Christians on Climate Change
Please join us on March 8 at 7:00 at Living Spirit Centre for a brief presentation by Mary Vetter and David Sauchyn, followed by discussion, to explore the consequences of a warming climate for our part of the world. While science gives us tools for understanding how and why the climate is changing, by itself it cannot give us the wisdom we need to address the challenges. We need other resources, for example scriptures, faith, empathy, experience, and scholarship. The steps identified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission for reconciliation between settler and indigenous peoples can be applied also to help us address the consequences of climate change: awareness of the past, acknowledgement of the harm that has been inflicted, atonement for the causes, and action to change behaviour.
